About Us
In Home Breeder
We are a small in home program where all of our dogs comes first. Our puppies are raised in our home, exposed to small dogs, adults, children, many different sights and sounds. They are not raised in a kennel environment. All puppies go home with AKC pet insurance to try for 30 days, their contract, their AKC limited registration, microchipped, a blanket with their mom/littermates scent, and other goodies.
Structure/Health
We firmly believe proper structure is very important for any dog, whether they are a show, companion, sport, or hunting dog. Structure is the foundation to a long life. We only breed dogs who have proper structure in accordance with the breed standard set by Poodle Club of America. All of our breeding dogs hold conformation champion titles in AKC and or UKC.

When it comes to breeding our poodles, we wait until they are 2 years old, complete their health testing, and make sure to complete all OFA CHIC requirements.
- Hip Dysplasia: OFA X-ray Evaluation
- Eye Exam by a board certified vet ophthalmologist
- Health Elective (at least one of these tests is required to obtain their CHIC number):
* OFA Thyroid Evaluation from an OFA approved vet.
* OFA Sebaceous Adenitis (SA) Evaluation by an OFA approved vet dermatologist.
* Heart Evaluation
Also we do a genetic health panel and test for genetic diversity. PRA-rcd 4 is a test we have done on one of our newer breeders in both the standards and toys. You can see all of our testing on the dogs individual pages and we will have links as well
Workability/Temperament/Hunting
Our puppies are raised with Puppy Culture, Early Neurological Stimulation, and Early Scent Introduction. They are groomed weekly basis, by having their face, feet, and sanitary area's shaved. Nails are trimmed as needed from birth.
We have structural evaluations at 7 weeks, as we could possibly keep a puppy back to show.
Our puppies are seen by our vet and receive age appropriate vaccine before going to their new homes. They are dewormed at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks of age.
Preservation Breeder
Desert Diamond is dedicated to the preservation of the Poodle, by only breeding the best males to our females to produce healthy, happy, balanced puppies. We only breed 1-2 litters a year with our standard. Also 1-2 litters per year with our toy poodles. With our focus being on raising puppies to be balanced members of our family and yours.
We do not sell our puppies to people who intend on mix breeding of any kind (No Doodle or Merle breeders). All puppies come with AKC Limited registration only

OFA Health Testing
For standard poodles we do all required testing to CHIC requirements and above

ENS/ESI
GoodDog
- ENS: Designed to stimulate the neurological system using mild stressors, which helps improve an adult dog's stress response. The protocol involves holding the puppy in five distinct positions for 3–5 seconds each, once a day
- ESI: Designed to target a puppy’s primary sense before their eyes and ears are fully functional. It trains the puppy’s scent processing and encourages "nose awareness".

With this we try to raise well rounded puppies by putting them in different situations from the time they are born until they go home.

Tase of the Wild
We feed our dogs Taste of the Wild hard kibble and do recommend this brand. We have noticed that our dogs do really well it. We give our the Ancient Grains kind.
We also feed them home cooked topping that consists of protein (either beef or chicken), potatoes, sweet potatoes, apples, blueberries, bell peppers, carrots, and green beans
